The School of Business and Economics at Sonoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Social Entrepreneurship beginning in the 2019-2020 academic year. The successful candidate must hold an earned Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Business Administration. The candidate’s primary teaching or research emphasis must be Social Entrepreneurship or Social Innovation, and there should be demonstrated success in teaching courses in these areas. Candidate must have completed a significant amount of graduate-level coursework in Social Entrepreneurship, Social Innovation, or related fields. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have earned the doctoral degree from institutions accredited by either AACSB or EQUIS. Candidates with an earned doctorate in a related field who have successfully completed the AACSB bridge program in Management with the above-mentioned emphases will also be considered.
A demonstrated track record of scholarly output in Social Entrepreneurship or Social Innovation leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals will be highly preferred. In addition, activities involving service to the university and external communities as well as experience with a diverse student community are also desirable. Significant practical professional experience in fields related to Social Entrepreneurship, Social Innovation, or Entrepreneurship will be viewed positively. A secondary emphasis in Entrepreneurship, Data Analytics, or Statistics is highly desirable. Strong preference will be given to candidates with significant graduate-level coursework in Entrepreneurship, Data Analytics, and/or Statistics and demonstrated success in teaching courses in these areas.
For appointment at the Associate Professor level, the successful candidate must demonstrate a history of significant accomplishments on all the criteria listed above. Additionally, for appointment at the Associate Professor level, it is highly desirable that the candidate have significant experience (a) serving in faculty or professional leadership positions and/or (b) building relationships with stakeholders in other disciplines or in the community.
