Representatives from the School of Management at The University of Southern Mississippi will be interviewing at the Academy of Management Meeting in Boston for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position in Strategic Management / Entrepreneurship to begin in August 2020. We are expecting the position to be based on our Hattiesburg campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability and willingness to teach undergraduate and graduate (MBA) courses in strategic management and entrepreneurship, publish in high-quality management and business journals, and serve the school, college, university, and profession through committee assignments and other appropriate avenues. This position is pending budget approval.
Potential Start Date: August 15, 2020.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in management or closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution, with teaching and research interests in strategic management, and/or related areas. Candidates must have teaching experience and be able to support teaching needs in our undergraduate and MBA programs. For candidates with prior employment in higher education, evidence of excellence in collegiate teaching and institutional/professional service is required. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States. We are not able to provide visas or sponsorship.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality peer-reviewed academic journals and an active research agenda is required.
Preferred candidates will have teaching experiences in and be willing to teach strategic management, entrepreneurship, international management, international business, and/or related sub-disciplines in management. We expect our colleague to be collegial, collaborative, and student-centered.
