The appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, ranging from foundation through advanced courses in Global Leadership and other relevant fields. The appointee will contribute to the ongoing success of the Global Leadership Advancement Center and enhance the effectiveness of its programs. The appointee will share in student advising, curriculum development, and service responsibilities. Effectiveness in academic assignments, including service to students and University, and a record of research and/or professional achievement, which are defined in the University Retention/Tenure/Promotion guidelines, is required to achieve tenure and promotion. Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation – through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.
A strong theoretical and/or applied background in Global Leadership is required. Interest and experiential background in Global Leadership and its development is desired.
Applicants should have awareness of and sensitivity to educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
Possess a doctorate from an accredited university and be academically qualified under AACSB standards. Terminal degree must be awarded by date of appointment.
For those with teaching experience, demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence. Demonstrate an ability to work in a collegial atmosphere as part of a team.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Exhibit a commitment to interact effectively with the Silicon Valley business community.
Emphasize pragmatic teaching applications, ideally with experiential teaching experience and industry exposure.
Expertise in some other disciplines such as leadership, international business/management, cross-cultural management, global innovation is desirable.
