The Harris School of Public Policy invites applications for a Full-Time Lecturer in Leadership for the 2020-2021 academic year.
The successful candidate must have the ability to teach at the university level in a variety of areas related to leadership and understand the application of these fields to policy students. The Lecturer will help expand course offerings related to leadership. Broad areas of interest include strategic management (public, private, and social sector strategy), work and conflict self-assessment, managerial mediation, working with the media, ethical leadership, persuasion and advocacy, collaborative problem solving, creativity as leadership, and leadership styles and assessments. The Lecturer will also help students cultivate their own leadership styles and guide them as they learn to lead and manage in the public, social, and private sectors.
Qualifications include a terminal degree in a field relevant to teaching leadership (such as sociology, psychology, business or public administration, leadership development, or related discipline), with a Ph.D. preferred. A demonstrated record of extensive and excellent teaching experience in a professional school is also required.
The Lecturer will teach four to six courses per academic year, depending on non-classroom responsibilities. The position will be a one-year, renewable appointment.
The position will be part of the Service Employees International Union.
