ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (Tenure Track) in Management and Leadership,
especially emergent work in the digital era, starting on the 1st of January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter for a fixed term of 3-5 years.
The position will strengthen University’s research profiling area “Emergent Work in the Digital Era” EWIDE by JSBE, especially in the field of management and leadership studies. Demonstrated research expertise relevant to digitalization of the future work in organizations (for example applications of digital technologies, AI and algorithms in management and leadership) is considered to be a strong merit. It also supports JSBE’s focus areas in digital business and economy as well as sustainable business and economy.
The main responsibilities of the Assistant or Associate Professor include conducting high-level research and publishing in top tier, peer-reviewed journals, teaching, and post graduate supervision. The Assistant or Associate Professor is expected to supervise MSc degree students, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers. The work profile also includes continuous development of teaching, faculty development and administrative obligations, as well as responsibility for establishing research projects in the EWIDE profiling area and actively applying for external funding for the research group.
The qualification required for the position is a doctoral degree. We expect strong evidence of the ability to conduct and publish scientific research and publishing, especially related to management and leadership. Demonstrated research expertise relevant to digitalization of future work in organizations is seen as a merit. In addition, we highly value candidates who can conduct research using both qualitative and quantitative methods. To be successful in the position, the candidate is expected to have an excellent track record of independent and innovative research that falls under the JSBE research focus area in digital business and economy as well as sustainable business and economy. We further expect strong evidence of teaching and supervision of theses, procuring research funding and of international networking.

Salary is based on duty-specific job demands and personal performance according to the University’s salary system. A trial period of six months when first employed for the position.
