The Center for Forecasting Science (CEFS) at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is a leading scientific research institute in forecasting and management science and serves as a significant thinking tank for China’s economic and social development. Established in Feb, 2006?the CEFS relied on Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS) at CAS. By tackling significant and key research projects, the CEFS is constantly improving academic level and competence, expanding research areas and exploring new research interests. It has made great progress in forecasting science, economic analysis, management science, and policy analysis. It has also made great contribution to supporting government decision-making. The research achievements has brought great impacts on social and academic circle, receiving great attention and high praise from state authorities, policy-makers, international academics, and economic and financial societies. Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS) was founded in 1998. CAS is the top academic research organization of P. R. China. This defines the mission of the AMSS: pursuing fundamental research of highest level on mathematical sciences and their a...pplications and related interdisciplinary study; high level training in mathematical sciences; providing consulting reports to the authorities on certain issues related to mathematical sciences and their applications; playing a leading role in advanced study of mathematics in China; and becoming a mathematical research center of global influence. The AMSS is the largest, strongest and the most influential research institution in mathematical science in China.
